tunebite version 3.0.0.8 Copyright (C) 2004-2006 by RapidSolution Software AG TIPS & TRICKS 1. It is not recommended to use normalization with high-speed digital dubbing as the tracks sound as loud as the original track. 2. Disable the crossfade playback effect in iTunes as this affects the beginning and the end of the tracks (go to "Edit->Preferences->Audio" and uncheck "Crossfade playback"). 3. Set maximum volume level in WMP and/or iTunes when converting with tunebite in auto/background mode. This can be automatically set by tunebite when running in batch mode. 4. To change a property value in the configuration file of tunebite (i.e. "config.ini") please exit tunebite first. Otherwise your changes will be overwritten by tunebite at its exit time. Hence the steps are: a) Exit tunebite using the "Exit" option of either the system tray menu or main windows right-click menu. b) Change the desired property value in "config.ini". c) Start tunebite and your changes will take effect. 5. To properly capture video from iTunes you need to configure iTunes so that: 1. Videos are played in a separate window: iTunes->Edit->Preferences->Playback->[x] Play videos: "in a separate window". 2. Artwork is hidden: Edit->Hide Artwork. (If already hidden you should see: "Show Artwork".) KNOWN ISSUES 1. If the length of a track encoded at variable bitrate seems to be different than the original track that's because many players have problems in computing the real length of a variable encoded track. 2. Starting the iTunes player might take very long (tens of seconds) if there is a audio CD inserted in your CD drive. If tunebite fails to start the player in 30 seconds it will report an error. To solve this problem you can either remove the CD from your CD drive or set the "OpenPlayerTimeout" property in config.ini file to a bigger value (the default value is 30 seconds). 3. The length of the tracks recorded from iTunes is affected by the "Crossfade playback" option. Go to Edit->Preferences->Audio and disable this option when tunebite is recording from iTunes. 4. If by any chance you cannot hear sound when playing songs in WMP or iTunes after using tunebite, that's likely because the "Tunebite High-Speed Dubbing" sound card has become your playback device in use. In this case we have to manually restore your old sound card from: - Windows -> Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices -> Audio -> Sound playback -> Default device - Windows Media Player -> Tools -> Options -> Devices -> Speakers -> Sound playback -> Audio device in use 5. The MP3 VBR header fix does not work with UNICODE paths. THIRD PARTY LICENSES 1.
